The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

You are Dr. Ian James McDermott, paranormal investigator, private detective, and practitioner of the forbidden arts. As lead investigator of the E.S.P.E.R. Society, you have been summoned to find Kathleen O'Neill and her young daughter Anna, last seen in the Willamette National Forest outside Salem, Oregon. This phenomenon is not restricted to this hapless mother and child... Six hundred thousand people go missing in similar conditions every year.

ESPER is a secret society founded in 1848 to stand in the gap between the darkness and the light. It stands for Extraordinary Supernatural Phenomena Explored and Revealed, but it's mission has extended far beyond the paranormal. It's agents have given up regular lives to keep watch over the darkness and make sure it doesn't encroach on humanity.

For there are more things to fear in the night than shadows.

AGS Panel Review

"Solid horror game that excels in world building and storytelling. Disturbing content may not be for everyone."

2 people commented on this game (newest first):

Horror games with 1990 vibes (i.e. very uncooperative characters, cooperative characters, accidental deaths, accidental intoxications, and more).

When the horror sets in you get genuinely scary moments. Remember to save!

This is a short horror game, made for a jam. It's quite moody and shows the investigation into the supernatural very well. I'm looking forward to the next games in the series. Recommended for horror fans!
