The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

This is a re-release of my MAGS-entry from July '01 Indy gets lost in Schloss Brunwald. He realizes, that he can only leave this chamber, if he can rescue a certain celebrity... You might need Dosbox for this one.

4 people commented on this game (newest first):

This game worked, but it had odd bugs, like it stopped every now and then, and played really sluggishly anyway. The graphics are pretty horrible, I must say. The "roof" is unnecessary tease, because the player can't even get there.

The event of the key appearing, could be more clearly shown, or Indy could remark something.

I think it's quite a blasphemy anyway to use a SIERRA-like GUI for a Lucasfilm/LucasArts character..

I'd rather see it the other way - like Roger Wilco on some kind of Quest in Space, done with SCUMM-type GUI.. (:

It was simple and sort of easy to figure out what to do after finding the magnet (what weird inventory graphics it has!), but some confusion was caused by every object looking like a sack instead of the objects they are supposed to represent.

And the whole concept of getting someone's head for a woman - how misandristic can you get? That was _AWFUL_. I would never expect to have to KILL someone in an adventure game!

That doesn't happen in Lucasfilm/LucasArts games, and it shouldn't happen in anyone else's, either!

It's not very funny that Indy supposedly thinks it was just special effects and then realizes he committed a murder, and then shrugs it off because he doesn't have to give up his skin-jacket!

Too much red and that weird, masonic-looking symbol in the background didn't help things, either. One could have actual nightmares after playing this.

I realize this was made in 2001, but come on, Maniac Mansion was made in 1987..

In addition, it's very short, and it actually only really has ONE room.

But games like these are good for giving people hope that even THEY can make better games than this.. my own game is looking better and better every time I try another AGS game.. (:

This works with DOSBox, but it keeps the screen dark for a LONG TIME before it starts, _AND_ it gives these alarming-looking errors:

Illegal write to 40004500, CS:IP f000: 11c4
Illegal write to 40004501, CS:IP f000: 11c4

Now I am off to test this ..

Always good to see an Indy fan game, even one that's been quickly whipped up (no Indy pun intended). One day all the Indy fans will hopefully combine to ensure one project gets finished instead of a hundred Indy games getting left unfinished :-)
