The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

Rosangela Blackwell is young writer who lives a solitary life in New York City. The death of her only relative inspires her to seek the truth behind her haunted past.

Note: This is an earlier incarnation of a game called The Blackwell Legacy. Consider this a distant cousin, of sorts.

But the ending sucked real hard, this is like a demo to buy the blackwell legacy...
Not done !!!

Nooooo what does it mean "TO BE CONTINUED".
That was too disappointing... I want a second part RIGHT NOWWWW!!!!

I think Davey boy should pay attention to all the people who wanted a sequel to THIS game, instead of fullfilling ARealAdventureFan
's prediction that Part 1 is never followed by a Part 2. I'm so sorry I am such a witch at you DG, but I really feel taken advantage of. The Blackwell Legacy took me 2 hours to finish...for $15?!? I also feel as you are betraying your "family" that helped you learn how to do this stuff in the first place. (You did ask for help or at least read the forums, right?) In my opinion, if you did only have the skill to use the AGS engine, then release it as an Indy...say like on the GameBoomers Indy section, and give Chris Jones his credit. Or possibly post it for sale on your website, which I am sure is mentioned all over the entire AGS entity.

Sorry, just had surgery and feel crummy...had to let it out on someone. This isn't very constructive...I am very angry you didn't finish this game. I am sorry for being so blunt. Peace. O.

This game was awesome. Awesome. I LOVED it. Two things could be improved: the graphics (but who cares with such a GREAT story) and the music (this game would need something eerier, i.e. something like the music used in the game ESPER).It was just a great game!

Excellent writing on this game, it kept me glued to the screen from beginning to end. Unfortunately, as others mentioned, the graphics don't suit the game completely; however, they're far from being bad. The puzzles were a bit too obvious, and the dialogue options were very restricted. The animations weren't very good, as mentioned by others here.

Still, I'm looking forward to the commercial version of the game if the writing quality is maintained and the overall feeling is revamped through better suited graphics and smoother animations. And also a complete story, it's very annoying how this one ends.

It's been a while since I played but I enjoyed the story line, the graphics were good and I actually finished it. Thanks, it was fun.

Two thumbs up! We need these kind of storylines!

Out of all the AGS games I've played so far, this one is the most logical and straight-forward. The game seems extremely short (as it actually is) in comparison because it is so straight-forward, unlike most AGS games with about 2 minutes worth of content where you instead spend hours getting stuck over the same type of nonsense over and over.

There was only one point where I got stuck, and that was with regard to hypnosis. I figured out immediately what the author intended for me with the file cabinet and all, but it took me a while to figure out how to go about getting out of the situation. Still, this is the only time I really got stuck, and the answer was still logical (just easy to overlook).

This is such a breath of fresh air since so many AGS games rely so much on BRUTE FORCE puzzle-solving. This one actually makes sense! Wow!

The game also has tooltips over the interactive elements, which is a very nice touch. So many AGS games do not have tooltips, so you have to guess what things you can click on. Some games like 6 Day Assassin are really bad because the game provides virtually no visual cues - the interactive objects are hidden in the background with nothing to pop them up into the foreground. In these cases, tooltips identifying the interactive elements should be considered essential.

The graphics are rather sketchy. They're not so bad as stills but the animation is pretty bad (especially where foreshortening is involved, such as Rosa's walking animation when she's facing the camera). Still, it doesn't detract too much from the game. It has a nice cartoon quality about it that's pretty consistent.

The story is kind of lame, but not too bad. The graphics are too cute to be scary, and when there was profanity, I was surprised cause the game seemed so tame with its cute sprites and all. The ending is a "to be continued" in the worst kind of way, so people beware! I hate to be the pessimist, but I've followed hundreds of amateur projects and I've seen enough to know that 99% of the time when an amateur proposes a multi-part series, he/she rarely even gets past the first part

I really enjoyed playing this game and seeing the great artwork. The story is really interesting and very intriguing - I'd love to know when Part Two comes out.

This game was one of the best AGS games I have ever played. Every character, big and small have their own divine personality. I personally think this was amazing.

Holy CRAP that was awsome! Much like the others, the ONLY complaint I have is that I'm left wanting MORE! Very well done, and I can't wait to see the next installment. Brilliant stuff!!

The only thing I did not like is that I have no idea when I can play the whole game, but its a great game which leaves me wanting for more more more :)

Great game! Good graphics, detailed settings, and and interesting storyline.

Good little plot.....fun to play. Puzzles were pretty sophisticated for a short , download game.
Agree, graphics were pretty resolute.

Thanks for making it. (And for giving me a clue when I needed it.}

I like the game, good graphics, puzzles a little too long to get/understand. I don't believe that a game should end with 'to be continued' unless the next game is ready to play. Every game should have an complete ending.
